Portuguese baked fish/steam fish. Peisi asadu

Ingredients needed for making portuguese baked fish/ steam fish.Trempa para faseh peisi asadu.


Dry chili.Cili seku. 


Large onions(you can use shallots if you want to)

Sabola grandi.(podi sibri sabola keninu kantu kere)


Turmeric.Safrang 


Lemon grass.Serei.


Turmeric leaves a few will do. Fola de safrang.umpoku cega.


Kaffir lime leave. Fola de limang perut.


A teaspoon of ready toasted prawn paste(can be purchased from me).Ungwa kulei keninu,belacan,ja lesti torak(podi kompra di eu)


Blend all ingredients together in the blender.Mui tudu trempa.


Preheat the oil,and fry all the ingredients till fragrant. Faseh kenti azati,frizi trempa ate cerozu.


Once the ingredients are fragrant,you may add in the leaves. If you desire,you may add the leaves when baking the fish.As for myself,I add in the leaves now cause I want my ingredients to smell better whenb baking or steaming.Trempa ja cerozu,podi bota dos-dos fola. Kantu nunggeri pota agora,podi bota kum peisi kiora kere asa.Eu bota agora,eu kere eu sa trempa mas cerozu.


Add salt. At this stage,you may add lime juice. If you prefer,you may add lime juice after baking while serving.Mete sal. Agora podi bota limang. Kantu nunggeri,podi bota kiora kere kumi.


Banana leave.Fola figu.



Fish.Peisi

Place the fish on the banana leave and foil. Put the paste on the fish,wrap it up and steam or bake for 20 minutes.Bota peisi na riba de fola figu,mete sa sambal,ficha,asa 20 minutu.

When fish is ready,serve hot with white rice. Kiora peisi ja kuzidu,kumi kum aros kenti.
